This guide will help you create the set up for your first Big Football Day Event.
The first step is to create the Event - this is the overview and details of the day. After you create the Event, you will then add the sessions for people to sign up to: How to Add a Session
- To create a Big Football Day event, you will first need to head to the Events Module within the admin area.
- Complete the checklist, (you can find more info in our guide - Big Football Day Checklist - What is required?)
- Next either select 'Add new Event' in the top right hand corner or 'Create a new Event', both will take you to the same screen.
- Add the Event details, such as 'Status'(click on the question mark (?) icon next to the boxes to find out more information), Your reference, Additional Information and Additional confirmation.
- Next select the the Date(s) - to run your Big Football Day event. When you select the date, you will also need to choose the Start time(s) and End time(s) for each event.
You are able to select any dates from Fri, 11 August 2023 up until Thu, 31 August 2023. You can select multiple dates. (Please note: the dates you choose, will be the only dates showing when you go to create your session, you can always come back to edit the event.) - The contact details are pulled through from the Lead Contact details you have set in the checklist, but you can edit these details when creating the event, or edit the Lead Contact (in the checklist) if you want these pre-set to other details going forward.
- Select the Venue you will be running the event from, by choosing a Linked venue or searching for the venue by name or postcode.
If you can't find the venue - you can add a new Venue manually that is only available to your club. -
Lastly, fill in the Delivery address details (For more information on how the FA handles your personal data and your data protection rights, please see The FA's privacy policy.)

Once you're done click, 'Save event'
- After creating your event you will be taken to the next step 'Add session'. We have a guide to help you 'Add a session'.
Your Event will then appear on the programming page under 'Active Events'
Click on the drop down to view 'Completed' and 'Cancelled' Events.
